I conquered the Keto niche and had all of the traffic and money I could have ever wanted ($180,000 in 7 months) from just ONE site. 

I assumed I had nothing to worry about.

But Google and Pinterest made changes that pulled the rug right out from under me.

I could have fought my way back to the top of Google search results. I could have kept working at Pinterest.

But I knew I would be constantly waiting for the next algorithm change to hit and take it all away.

I didn’t want to live like that. I’d almost rather get a regular job than find myself trying to compete neck and neck with large media companies that have TEAMS dedicated to content creation and SEO.

I want a business that I’m in control of.

Where I don’t stress about how many people are coming to the site every day because I know that I’m doing the things that will make more and more of the right people come every single day.

The New Blog Model

They believe that the first tier of earning money is to get enough pageviews to get into an ad network.

2. When you only focus on writing about the big topics you start to bring in people that won’t care about clicking on affiliate links or purchasing your offers so once you get into an ad network it’s almost like you have to start over again with a new strategy to bring in the right people

The idea of switching gears makes you panic because you have this ad money now and you want it to grow every month, right?  

So while you know that it is smart to be thinking about creating some type of an offer, you’re also at the same time terrified of taking your eye off the ad money prize!

You’re chained to one revenue stream. You’re stuck no matter what else you try.

So I decided to flip it.

Rather than ads being your first goal, you should be thinking about how you can start to make money with every person that comes to your site the day that you launch it.

I am in no way saying that you should never try to put ads on your site. It’s nice money when you can get it and and I have nothing at all against it.

I have multiple blogs that are in AdThrive and I’m not complaining about the monthly paycheck!

What I’m saying is that if you want water, you shouldn’t have to wait 6 months until it rains. Go bring the water to you!

You saw what happened to me when all I thought about was pageviews. 

My wife asking for grocery money? My brother going home to Florida to live with our parents? Me asking to borrow money from a friend?

If I’d been thinking from the beginning about how to make money before we got into that ad company I would have saved myself from some seriously low points.

I could have been focusing on affiliate sales. I could have been planning an offer for that massive audience I was building.
