Big Idea

In the world of marketing there is a classic term called the Big Idea.

David Ogilvy is famous for saying that if a hook doesn’t have a Big Idea then it’s a complete waste of space.

Okay, he didn’t say it in those words, but that’s how I’m saying it here. I bring this up because it’s something that you need to consider for your own brand.

It doesn’t matter if you’re just one person trying to launch one little offer to a small audience. If you want to increase your chances of success you need to have a Big Idea.

I like the term Big Idea but I also hate it because I know a lot of people are going to run away from that idea because they don’t want to be responsible for a Big Idea.

It’s not that they don’t want one. It’s just that they feel there is a responsibility behind coming up with one and this is why they are so special.

Do you need to have a Big Idea to make money? Of course not. Almost everybody online making money doesn’t have a Big Idea, but that’s exactly why this is such a huge opportunity.

If you can enter a niche with your Big Idea then you get to change the game of that niche. All of a sudden you become the leader by default and everyone else is playing catch up.

And do you want to know the amazing thing about a Big Idea? It’s rarely unique.

Sure, some people might have unique frameworks they can talk about and that is their Big Idea, but other times it’s just people framing something in a different light. That’s enough to make their audience believe that is it a Big Idea.

There is a ton of stuff already written on the Big Idea so at the moment I’m not going to dive deeper into the topic in this blog post, but it’s something I’ll have to revisit.

I just think it’s an important concept to start thinking about especially if you want make the good money.
